Easter twist on Italian gin cocktail with cinnamon, nutmeg, orange, and allspice for spiced hot cross bun flavors in a unique drink.
Ingredients:
  • 60ml spiced gin
  • 60ml Cinzano Spr Rosso Sweet Vermouth
  • 30ml pear schnapps
  • 30ml Campari Apertif
  • 2 x 0.5mm slices orange
  • Squeeze of orange juice
  • 1/2 a cinnamon quill
  • 2 allspice berries
  • 1/4 of a nutmeg, coarsely grated
  • 42.50 gm natural sultanas
  • 20.00 ml currants
  • 400ml Gin
Instructions:
  • Heat a clean, dry frying pan over medium heat, add spices, and toast for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Transfer the toasted spices to a jar and mix in sultanas and currants. Pour gin over the mixture and let it sit for at least 24 hours, ideally 3 days to allow flavors to infuse.
  • Pour 60mls of spiced gin into a cocktail shaker. Add vermouth, pear schnapps, and Campari. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture over a large ice cube into 2 short serving glasses, garnish each with an orange slice, and finish by squeezing a bit of orange juice on top. Time to savor!
