Upgrade your hot dog with spicy beef sauce, Cheddar cheese, and raw onions for a delicious twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef chuck
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup barbeque sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup water
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the beef and onion until browned. Remove excess fat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Transfer to a food processor and pulse until finely crumbled. Return the meat to the skillet, add garlic, and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add the ketchup, barbeque sauce, chili powder, mustard, pepper, salt, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, and water to the skillet. Simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes until most of the liquid reduces. Adjust seasoning with more salt, if needed.
