Texas-style hot dog sauce featuring diced hot dogs from New York. A must-try for all hot dog lovers.
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups water
  • 0.5 pound all-beef hot dogs, ground
  • 0.25 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 2 grinds freshly ground black pepper, or more to taste
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • 0.25 cup cold water, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Combine water, ground hot dogs, vinegar, paprika, chili powder, sea salt, red pepper flakes, onion powder, oregano, cinnamon, white pepper, thyme, and black pepper in a large stockpot. Bring to a boil, then simmer over medium-low heat for 45 minutes.
  • Whisk cornstarch with a splash of cold water until fully dissolved, then pour into the hot dog mixture while stirring. Cook and stir until the sauce slightly thickens, about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
