Make authentic Chinese-style fried rice at home using shrimp, ham, chicken, and veggies for a tasty and satisfying meal with leftovers.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups uncooked white rice
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 cup small shrimp - peeled and deveined
  • 0.5 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup chopped cooked chicken breast
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 carrots - peeled and diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 0.5 cup green peas
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
Instructions:
  • Prepare rice as directed. Meanwhile, heat sesame oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onion until golden, then add garlic. Once garlic is light brown, add shrimp, ham, and chicken. Cook until shrimp turns pink.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add celery, carrot, green pepper, and peas. Sauté until veggies are slightly crunchy. Mix in the beaten egg and cook until it's scrambled and fully cooked.
  • Once the rice is cooked, combine it well with the vegetables and then stir in the soy sauce. Adjust the seasoning as per your taste and serve promptly.
