Satisfy your Waffle House cravings with this irresistible copycat waffle recipe. Top with maple syrup, butter, and chocolate chips for a decadent treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 0.25 cup salted butter, softened, plus more for serving
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk
  • cooking spray
  • pure maple syrup, and/or chocolate chips, for serving
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a bowl and whisk until well blended.
  • In a large bowl, combine egg, sugar, butter, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Pour in half-and-half and buttermilk. Gently fold in the flour mixture, being careful not to overmix. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight before using.
  • Preheat your waffle iron to medium-high and give it a light coating of cooking spray. Pour 2/3 cup of batter onto the iron and cook until golden and crisp on the edges, about 4 to 6 minutes. Transfer the waffle to a plate to keep warm, then repeat with the rest of the batter.
  • Top the fluffy waffles with a drizzle of rich maple syrup, a sprinkle of decadent chocolate chips, and an extra pat of creamy butter, if desired.
