Learn to chop fennel: quarter & slice for salads and sides!
Ingredients:
  • 1 fennel bulb
Instructions:
  • Separate the stalk: Trim off the stalk where the green meets the white bulb. If using the fronds, remove and set aside for later use as a herb, like dill, by finely chopping them.
  • Place the bulb root-side down on a cutting board and slice it in half from the stalk end through the root end.
  • Cut the fennel bulb in quarters by placing the cut-side down and slicing each half into quarters.
  • Peel off any dry or discolored outer layers from the bulb.
  • Thinly slice each quarter of the fennel crosswise from the stem end towards the root end, discarding the root end.
