Perfectly steamed vibrant green broccoli every time - tender, never mushy.
Ingredients:
  • 1 bunch of broccoli
  • Many options here:
  • Olive oil, butter, or mayonnaise (use olive oil if cooking vegan)
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon zest or juice, balsamic vinegar, seasoned rice vinegar
  • Toasted almonds, toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Prepare the broccoli: Separate the crowns from the stems, breaking the crowns into bite-sized florets. Rinse florets well. Peel and discard outer skin from stems, then slice or quarter lengthwise.
  • To steam the broccoli, fill a saucepan with 3/4 to 1 inch of water and bring it to a boil. Alternatively, you can boil the broccoli directly in 1 inch of water if you don't have a steamer.
  • Steam broccoli for 5-6 minutes until fork-tender. Avoid overcooking to preserve the bright green color. Remove from heat promptly and transfer to a serving dish.
  • Add a delightful touch of your favorite topping: Drizzle with butter, olive oil, mayonnaise, lemon zest or juice, seasoned rice vinegar, balsamic vinegar, ground black pepper, toasted almonds, or sesame seeds. Enjoy the dish and share your feedback with us!
