Steam eggs for easy peeling. Master the art of steaming hard boiled eggs.
Ingredients:
  • 6 large eggs
Instructions:
  • For a steamer basket, fill a saucepan with water up to 1 inch below the basket. For those not using a steamer basket, fill a saucepan with water up to 1/2 inch.
  • Bring the water to a boil, then gently add the eggs to the pot, ensuring they are in a single layer. Cover the pot and steam the eggs on medium-high heat until cooked to your desired doneness. You can double them up if needed, just adjust the steaming time accordingly.
  • Steam the eggs based on your desired doneness: Set a timer for 6 minutes for soft-boiled eggs, 10 minutes for hard-boiled eggs with a still translucent and bright yolk, or 12 to 15 minutes for fully cooked hard-boiled eggs. If the eggs are not in a single layer, adjust the cooking time accordingly, adding a couple of minutes for hard-boiled eggs. To ensure the eggs are cooked to your preference, you may test one by removing it a couple of minutes before the set time, rinsing it under cold water, and checking its doneness. Remember that factors such as altitude and egg size can impact cooking time.
  • Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice-cold water to quickly cool them down. If you enjoyed the recipe, please consider leaving a star rating and a comment below!
