Buttery saffron rice: Sautéed white rice simmered in saffron-infused water for perfect fluffy texture. Heat it enough so it boils non-stop when water is added.
Ingredients:
  • 0.125 teaspoon powdered saffron
  • 2 cups boiling water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice, not rinsed
Instructions:
  • Infuse the saffron in 1/2 cup of boiling water.
  • In a covered skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add rice and salt, stirring constantly until rice absorbs the butter and turns opaque without browning.
  • Add the remaining 1 1/2 cups of boiling water and saffron water to the pot, cover promptly, and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed. Avoid lifting the lid while the rice cooks for optimal results.
