Jeera and garam masala infused basmati rice with mixed veggies and onions.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon garam masala
  • 0.75 cup frozen mixed vegetables
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Saute onions and cumin until the onions are tender. Rinse the rice several times, drain well, then add it to the pan along with 2 cups of water. Stir in the salt, garam masala, and vegetables. Cover the pan and increase the heat to high.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and then simmer on low heat with the rice covered. After cooking for about 10 minutes, gently stir to evenly distribute the spices. Cook for 25 to 30 minutes until all the water evaporates and the rice is tender.
