Ingredients:
  • 60g butter, melted
  • 45.00 gm brown sugar
  • 42.50 gm sultanas
  • 750g apple
  • 10 slices white bread, crusts cut off
  • 200ml thickened cream
  • 59.40 gm brown sugar
  • 20g butter, extra
  • 20.00 ml Frangelico liqueur or brandy
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C and lightly grease 4 ramekins with butter.
  • In a frying pan over medium heat, combine sugar, 1/4 cup water, sultanas, and apples. Toss to coat evenly. Cook the apples for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is absorbed.
  • - Cut out 4 circles from 2 slices of bread to fit the bases of ramekins. - Cut the remaining slices into thirds. - Brush one side of each piece with melted butter. - Place a circle, buttered side down into the base of each ramekin. - Line the sides of the ramekins with bread strips (buttered side out), letting the ends overhang.
  • Press the apple mixture firmly into each piece of bread, fold over to enclose, brush with butter, and place on a baking tray. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Next, combine the remaining ingredients in a frying pan and heat gently until the butter and sugar have melted. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes until it thickens slightly. Keep it warm.
  • Carefully slide a knife around the edges of the ramekins to loosen the charlottes. Invert each charlotte onto a serving plate and gracefully drizzle the sauce over the top. Enjoy your elegant dessert presentation!
