Satisfy your sushi cravings at home with a homemade version!
Ingredients:
  • 200.00 gm sushi rice
  • 32.50 gm sushi seasoning
  • 16 green beans, trimmed
  • 2 nori sheets, halved
  • 5.00 gm Japanese seven spice mix (optional)
  • 20.00 ml wasabi paste
  • 150g sliced smoked salmon
Instructions:
  • Rinse the rice in a strainer until the water runs clear. Let it drain for 10 minutes.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine rice and 1 cup of cold water. Cover and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer covered for 12 minutes until water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes. Transfer to a large ceramic dish and gently break up lumps with a spatula. Gradually fold in seasoning until rice cools down.
  • Boil beans in water until tender, about 1 minute. Refresh under cold water and drain.
  • Lay 1 sheet of nori on sushi mat. Gently spread a quarter of the rice over the nori using damp fingers, then sprinkle with half a teaspoon of spice mix.
  • Place plastic wrap over the rice and flip the sushi rolling mat so that the seaweed faces upward. Slide the plastic-covered rice onto the mat, with the seaweed facing up. Gently spread a small amount of wasabi along the center of the seaweed. Arrange 1/4 portion of salmon and beans on top of the wasabi. Roll the ingredients tightly using the mat to create a sushi roll. Carefully unroll the mat while keeping the plastic wrap in place.
  • Slice the roll into 8 pieces, discarding the plastic. Continue until you have 32 pieces. Serve and enjoy!
