Irresistibly savory baked beans that steal the spotlight with a meaty flavor. Perfect on their own or served over rice.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon strips, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 6 ounces smoked sausage, diced
  • 0.5 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound dry black beans
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Preheat your multi-functional pressure cooker (like Instant Pot®) on Saute mode. Saute bacon, sausage, onion, and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes. Add broth and deglaze the pot. Mix in beans, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Stop sauteing. Seal the lid securely.
  • Choose the high-pressure setting and set the timer for 40 minutes, letting the pressure build for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Allow the pressure to naturally release following the manufacturer's guidelines, approximately 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
