Instant Pot® Butter Chicken from Frozen

Make delicious Instant Pot® butter chicken with chicken straight from the freezer--no need to defrost!
Ingredients:
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.33333334326744 cup diced onion
  • 9 ounces frozen cubed chicken
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 0.25 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon tandoori seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat Instant Pot® on Saute function. Melt butter, saute onion and garlic until fragrant. Add frozen chicken, pour tomato sauce, then cancel.
  • Securely seal the lid and choose high pressure as per the manufacturer's guidelines. Set the timer for 30 minutes and wait for the pressure to build for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions to naturally release pressure for 15 minutes, then quick-release for about 5 minutes. Unlock and remove the lid.
  • Stir whipping cream, tandoori seasoning, garam masala, and cayenne pepper together until combined. Serve promptly topped with cilantro for a burst of flavors.
