Quick and convenient Instant Pot pasta and meat sauce, all in one pot in under an hour.
Ingredients:
  • ½ medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 ¼ cups water, divided
  • 1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti, broken in half
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes
Instructions:
  • Preheat a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) on sauté mode. Saute onion in olive oil until slightly soft, about 5 minutes. Add beef, Italian seasoning, pepper flakes, garlic, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook until beef is browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Cancel sauté mode. Add 1/4 cup water to the pot, bring to a boil, and deglaze by scraping up the browned bits with a wooden spoon.
  • Create a beautiful lattice of spaghetti on top of the meat. Drizzle marinara sauce generously over the pasta, followed by the diced tomatoes. Carefully pour the remaining 3 cups of water around the edges and on top of the tomatoes. Gently press down with a spatula to ensure the water penetrates all layers, covering every strand of pasta.
  • Secure the lid tightly, choosing high pressure as per the manufacturer's guidelines. Set the timer for 5 minutes, then patiently wait for 10 to 15 minutes for the pressure to build.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions to naturally release pressure for 5 minutes. Then, carefully quick-release the remaining pressure for about 5 minutes. Unlock the lid and mix the spaghetti and meat sauce together before serving.
