Instant Pot Philly Cheesesteak Pasta: Creamy cheese sauce meets classic flavors in a delicious twist on a traditional favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups frozen bell pepper and onion mix, thawed
  • 9 ounces boneless beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 3 cups bow-tie pasta
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1.5 cups shredded American cheese
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
  • Start by heating up your multi-functional pressure cooker like the Instant Pot and choosing the Saute function. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter along with olive oil, bell pepper blend, and beef. Cook until the beef is nicely browned, approximately 5 minutes. Then, add the broth while scraping up any flavorful browned bits stuck to the bottom of the pot.
  • Securely close and lock the lid. Choose high pressure setting based on manufacturer's guidelines and set the timer for 8 minutes. Let pressure build for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Allow pressure to release naturally following the manufacturer's guidelines for approximately 15 minutes.
  • In a large pot, bring lightly salted water to a boil. Cook bow-tie pasta until al dente, about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain pasta.
  • Melt the last tablespoon of butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour to create a paste. Gradually pour in milk while stirring constantly to prevent burning. Let the sauce thicken slightly. Mix in shredded American cheese until smooth. Season the cheese sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Quick-release any remaining pressure, unlock and remove the lid. Add sliced mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, seasoned salt, and pepper. Adjust seasonings to taste. Serve the beef mixture over the cooked farfalle, and drizzle with the cheese sauce.
