Savory fried cabbage with crispy bacon - a simple and flavorful dish perfect for St. Patrick's Day or any occasion!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package bacon
  • 0.25 cup bacon drippings
  • 1 small head cabbage, cored and finely chopped
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Fry the bacon in a deep skillet over medium heat until crispy, for 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, and keep 1/4 cup of the drippings in the skillet.
  • Sauté the cabbage in the flavorful bacon drippings until it wilts, for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle crispy bacon pieces over the cabbage mixture and gently stir to combine. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the bacon is heated through. Finish by seasoning with freshly ground black pepper to taste.
