Indulgent apple pie in a rustic skillet made with flaky crust, tart apples, and rich brown sugar.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 refrigerated 9-inch pie crusts, divided
  • 5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place butter in a large iron skillet and allow it to melt in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes.
  • Combine the brown sugar with the melted butter and return to the oven until it bubbles, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Carefully place 1 pie crust over the butter-brown sugar mixture without pressing it down, then layer apple slices on top of the crust.
  • Combine white sugar, cinnamon, and flour in a bowl; scatter over apple slices. Place the other pie crust on top, creating vents by making slits in the crust. Seal the edges together.
  • Bake until the top crust turns a beautiful golden brown in the preheated oven for around 45 minutes.
