Hawaiian-style yams or sweet potatoes with traditional island flavors, perfect for luaus and celebrations.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 pounds yams, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup pineapple and orange juice blend
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 0.5 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup chopped macadamia nuts
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, add yams and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered on medium-low heat until tender, around 20 minutes. Drain and let steam dry for a minute or two before serving.
  • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) for the perfect temperature.
  • Place the yams back into the pot and blend with juice until velvety. Transfer the creamy yams into a 3-quart casserole dish, dot with butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and nuts. Gently cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in a preheated oven until perfectly hot and bubbling, for 35 to 40 minutes.
