Chewy inside, crisp outside, coated in sliced almonds for a stunning and delicious treat. Worth the effort!
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds almond paste
  • 8 egg whites
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 cups sliced almonds
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cookie sheets by greasing them.
  • Combine almond paste, flour, egg whites, white sugar, and confectioners' sugar in a large bowl, using your hands to blend well until the mixture is sticky. Place sliced almonds in a separate bowl. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and roll them in almonds until fully coated. Space each cookie 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until beautifully golden. Allow to cool on the cookie sheets briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
