Authentic and delicious Italian recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 0.33333298563957 cup milk
  • 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 0.25 cup hot milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Sift 3 cups flour twice. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, white sugar, and cocoa. Cream 1 cup butter or margarine; then incorporate into the flour mixture. Stir in 1/3 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and nuts. Mix well by hand until fully combined (dough should resemble pie crust dough, not sticky).
  • Take about 1 teaspoon of dough for each cookie and roll into one-inch balls. Place the dough balls on greased baking sheets without flattening them. Bake for approximately 10 minutes until lightly browned. Remove the cookies from the baking sheets and let them cool on racks. Once cooled, generously drizzle each cookie with chocolate frosting and add candy sprinkles for extra delight.
  • Melt chocolate squares on low heat. Cream with 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 2 cups confectioner's sugar. Slowly mix in hot milk until smooth.
