Whip up a quick and delicious homemade pizza margherita casserole.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/4 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 tablespoons very hot water
  • 1/2 lb bulk spicy Italian pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup Alfredo pasta sauce (from 16-oz jar)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup grape tomatoes, cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves, cut into strips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Lightly grease the bottom of an 8-inch square (2-quart) baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix Bisquick mix, butter, and water until a dough forms. Press the dough into the bottom of the pan.
  • In a skillet, sauté the sausage and bell pepper until the sausage is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain if needed. Spread the cooked sausage mixture over the crust, top with pasta sauce, and sprinkle with cheeses.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the edges are bubbly and the cheese is lightly browned. Sprinkle the top with fresh tomatoes and basil before serving.
