Indulge in a delicious fusion of Italian and burgers with this satisfying skillet dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb bulk mild Italian sausage
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 box Hamburger Helper™ cheeseburger macaroni
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup pearl-sized (1/2-inch) mozzarella cheese balls (from 8-oz package)
  • 1/4 cup jarred sliced roasted red peppers, drained and patted dry
  • 1 cup garlic butter croutons (from 5-oz bag)
  • 1/4 cup shredded fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
  • Cook the sausage in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring often, until nicely cooked; then drain any excess fat.
  • Combine milk, hot water, and uncooked pasta with sauce mix from the Hamburger Helper™ box in a pot. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 9 to 11 minutes until pasta is tender. Finish by stirring in vinegar.
  • Take the skillet off the heat. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and red peppers on top. Cover the skillet and allow it to sit for 3 to 4 minutes to melt the cheese. Finish by adding croutons and basil on top before serving.
