Whip up a unique side dish by using jicama instead of potatoes for hash browns. Season with parsley, onion powder, and cayenne for a flavorful twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large jicama, peeled and grated
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Instructions:
  • Rinse grated jicama in a mesh strainer under cold water for 2 minutes to remove excess starch. Allow to drain for 5 minutes, then squeeze out any remaining moisture.
  • Mix together the jicama, parsley, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a bowl until everything is well coated.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add the jicama mixture and press down with a spatula. Let it cook undisturbed for 8 minutes. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes.
