"Layered 4-Way Chili: Spaghetti, crackers, cheese, chili."
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 pound mild pork sausage
  • 1 large red onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans Mexican-style stewed tomatoes
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, drained
  • 2 (1.25 ounce) packages chili seasoning mix
  • 1 (8 ounce) package angel hair pasta
  • 1 (4 ounce) packet saltine crackers
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, crumble the ground beef and pork sausage. Cook and stir until browned. Drain and set aside.
  • Spray a large pot with cooking spray and sauté the green, red, and yellow bell peppers with onion until tender. Add beef and sausage, then blend stewed tomatoes and chili seasoning before mixing them in. Stir in pinto beans and simmer until heated through.
  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, then cook angel hair pasta until tender, approximately 2 to 3 minutes. Drain the pasta.
  • To plate the chili, layer pasta first, crushed saltine crackers next, followed by shredded cheese, and top it all off with chili. Mix well and savor every bite, being mindful of portion sizes to avoid an overwhelming serving.
