Hearty baked beans with browned ground beef and crispy bacon, perfect for potlucks.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound bacon, diced
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup barbeque sauce
  • 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can butter beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans pork and beans
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to create the perfect cooking environment.
  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Brown the bacon, ground beef, and onion until cooked through, about 7 to 10 minutes. Remove excess fat and transfer to a casserole dish.
  • Combine white sugar, brown sugar, ketchup, barbeque sauce, mustard, molasses, chili powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Pour over the bacon mixture, then add the kidney beans, butter beans, and pork and beans. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
  • Cook until the liquid has thickened, approximately 1 hour in the preheated oven.
