Savory kielbasa and cabbage cooked with bacon, garlic, red pepper, and caraway seeds for a comforting, flavorful meal.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons caraway seed
  • 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1 large head cabbage, cut into small wedges
  • 1 pound Polish kielbasa
Instructions:
  • Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crispy, turning once. Transfer bacon to paper towels, keeping the tasty drippings in the pan.
  • Combine onions, water, sugar, caraway seeds, garlic, red pepper flakes, and seasoned salt with drippings, then gently mix in cabbage. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Add the savory kielbasa to the pan and simmer it with the lid on for 10-15 minutes. Sprinkle the crispy bacon on top before serving this delicious dish piping hot.
