Whisk up some adorable Kitty Cat Brownies for a kids' birthday bash, a fun treat and craft in one!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Fudge Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Dark Chocolate Frosting or 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting or 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Milk Chocolate Frosting
  • 2 large yellow gumdrops
  • 1 large green gumdrop
  • 1 small black gumdrop
  • Black shoestring licorice
  • 6 candy corn
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 (8-inch or 9-inch) round cake pans with foil and grease the bottoms with shortening or cooking spray.
  • Prepare brownie batter following the instructions on the box, then distribute the batter evenly between the pans.
  • Bake for 24 to 26 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out almost clean. Allow to cool completely.
  • Gently lift the brownie from the pan by using the foil, then remove the foil. Cut one round shape as instructed. Arrange the uncut round and the pieces on a large tray or foil-covered cardboard to resemble a cat, with the top sides facing down. Frost the cat, securing the pieces together with a small amount of frosting.
  • Prepare the gumdrop decorations: Slice a thin piece from the bottom of each yellow gumdrop for the eyes, cut a thin slice from a green gumdrop for the pupils, use a black gumdrop for the nose, and use shoestring licorice for the whiskers, mouth, and paws. Attach three candy corn pieces to each paw for claws. Store the completed decorations loosely covered until ready to use.
