Cook Time:
Elevate a classic lamb burger with pesto on Turkish bread for a gourmet touch.
Ingredients:
  • 450g lamb mince
  • 2 slices finely chopped prosciutto
  • 40.00 ml chopped basil
  • 1 lightly beaten egg
  • 40.00 ml fresh breadcrumbs
  • 125g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 4.00 gm brown sugar
  • 1 loaf Turkish bread
  • Pesto, to serve
  • Sliced red onion, to serve
  • Mixed salad leaves, to serve
Instructions:
  • Prepare a baking tray with non-stick baking paper. Combine lamb mince, finely chopped prosciutto, chopped basil, lightly beaten egg, fresh breadcrumbs, salt, and cracked black pepper in a large bowl. Mix well. Shape the mixture into 6 flat patties. Refrigerate on the prepared tray for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties in batches for 3 minutes on each side until done. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine halved cherry tomatoes, 1 tablespoon water, and brown sugar. Simmer for 6 minutes until soft and slightly thickened.
  • Slice Turkish bread in half vertically, then cut into 4-6 pieces and toast lightly. Arrange bread on plates, spread with pesto, add red onion, tomato mixture, salad leaves, and top with the other half of the bread. Serve promptly.
