Spicy lamb burgers with classic tzatziki, perfect for heat lovers.
Ingredients:
  • 1kg lamb mince
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 5.00 gm ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.63 gm ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 40.00 ml chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 6 sourdough rolls, split
  • 2 roasted capsicums, cut into strips
  • 280g yoghurt
  • 1 Lebanese cucumber, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 40.00 ml chopped mint, plus extra leaves to garnish
Instructions:
  • Combine the lamb, onion, garlic, spices, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Use your hands to mix thoroughly, then shape the mixture into six patties. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Make the tzatziki by mixing yoghurt, cucumber, garlic, and mint. Season and refrigerate. Preheat a grill to medium-high. Grill the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side. Toast buns, spread with tzatziki, and assemble with roast capsicum, lamb patties, and mint leaves.
