Zesty lemon bars on a crisp, buttery crust - a timeless and simple treat!
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Combine 2 cups of flour and confectioner's sugar, then incorporate the butter or margarine until the mixture resembles pie dough. Press the dough into a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Bake until golden brown, approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Combine eggs, sugar, 4 tablespoons of flour, lemon juice, and lemon rind in a bowl. Beat vigorously for 1 minute until smooth. Pour the luscious mixture over the golden baked crust.
  • Continue baking the bars for an additional 20 minutes, or until the lemon topping becomes firm. Dust with confectioner's sugar once they have cooled.
