Luscious lemon-walnut bars: a refreshing citrus delight for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 lemon
  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.5 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 325 degrees F (160 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Prepare the crust by creaming together butter, 2 cups of flour, and confectioners' sugar until fluffy in a large mixing bowl. Spread the mixture evenly into the pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Combine eggs and sugar in a medium bowl. Add lemon zest and 6 tablespoons of lemon juice. Sprinkle in flour and baking powder. Gently fold in nuts until well blended. Pour the lemon filling into the crust.
  • Continue baking for an additional 35 minutes until the filling is firm. Allow it to cool before slicing.
