Coal country-inspired mix with bold flavor from bite-size black licorice pieces.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (14 oz) Multi-Bran Chex™ cereal
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon coarse (kosher or sea) salt
  • 2 cups small pretzel squares
  • 2 cups dry-roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup black licorice pieces (1/2 inch each)
  • 1 cup red licorice pieces (1/2 inch each)
Instructions:
  • Place cereal in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave butter in a 1-cup measuring cup on High for about 30 seconds until melted. Pour over cereal, mix until coated evenly, then sprinkle with salt. Microwave uncovered on High for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring every minute.
  • Mix in the rest of the ingredients. Spread the mixture on waxed paper or foil to cool down. Keep in an airtight container.
