Crispy deep-fried halibut with panko and seasoned bread crumbs for the ultimate fish and chips experience.
Ingredients:
  • oil for frying
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package panko bread crumbs
  • 0.5 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 pound halibut, cut into 2-inch squares
Instructions:
  • Heat up oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan until it reaches 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and flour. In a separate bowl, combine panko bread crumbs and seasoned bread crumbs.
  • Carefully coat halibut in egg mixture, then press into bread crumbs to cover both sides. Place the breaded halibut on a plate in a single layer. Repeat with remaining halibut.
  • Gently place the halibut in the hot oil in batches and fry until the outside is golden brown and crispy, about 4 to 5 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with the rest of the halibut.
