Elevate your creamy pasta sauce with savory ham and fresh basil, built on a flavorful base of mushroom, onion, and garlic.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package linguine pasta
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1.5 cups whipping cream
  • 0.25 pound cooked ham, julienned
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. 2. Add linguine and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until al dente. 3. Drain cooked pasta.
  • In a saute pan over medium heat, melt butter. Saute onion, garlic, and mushrooms in the butter until tender. Lower the heat and gently mix in cream. Cook until the sauce thickens, then stir in ham and basil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Toss linguine in cream sauce in a large bowl and season generously with freshly ground black pepper.
