Indulge guilt-free in flavorful chocolate brownies.
Ingredients:
  • Melted butter, to grease
  • 220g (1 cup) caster sugar
  • 70g cocoa powder, sifted
  • 110g apple puree
  • 45g (1/3 cup) walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 3 egg whites
  • 27.60 gm vegetable oil
  • 4.40 gm vanilla essence
  • 75g (1/2 cup) plain flour
  • 2.00 gm baking powder
  • 2.50 gm cocoa powder, to dust, extra (optional)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C. Grease an 18cm square cake pan with butter and line the base and two sides with non-stick baking paper, leaving some paper overhanging the sides.
  • Mix sugar, cocoa powder, apple, walnuts, egg whites, oil, and vanilla essence in a medium bowl using a wooden spoon until well combined.
  • Gradually add the sifted flour and baking powder into the cocoa mixture, then gently fold them together with a spoon until fully incorporated.
  • Transfer the mixture into the pan and bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before flipping it onto a wire rack to cool. Optional: Sprinkle cocoa powder on top for added flavor.
