Indulgent chocolate heart cakes with pears and almonds, baked in a heart-shaped silicone mold. Makes 8.
Ingredients:
  • 3.5 ounces dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 ripe pear - peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 0.5 cup slivered almonds
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a cozy 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and set out a charming 8-cavity heart silicone mold on a baking sheet.
  • Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, for a total of 1 to 3 minutes. Allow to cool for 2 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix together sugar and butter until smooth and creamy using an electric mixer. Stir in melted chocolate, 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon flour, egg, and baking powder until well combined. Gently fold in pear and almonds, then spoon the batter into the heart-shaped molds.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow it to cool completely for about 30 minutes before unmolding.
