Deliciously moist date and applesauce cake sweetened with a sugar substitute.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup margarine
  • 1 tablespoon liquid sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1.5 cups unsweetened applesauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then give a gentle sprinkle of grease and flour to a cozy 8x8 inch pan.
  • Combine margarine, eggs, sweetener, vanilla, cloves, and cinnamon in a large bowl and cream until smooth. Sift flour and baking powder together, then add to the mixture. Fold in dates, chopped pecans, and applesauce. Transfer batter to a prepared pan.
  • Place your creation in the preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Let it cool before indulging.
