Transport yourself back to childhood with our nostalgic Aussie treat - Malt ‘O’ Milk and Milo no-bake slice. Indulge in the sweet Milo-chocolate blend with tangy cream cheese, topped with gelatine for the perfect texture. Perfect for picnics, bake sales, or a sweet afternoon pick-me-up!
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 x 320g pkts Malt ‘O’ Milk biscuits (you will need 44 biscuits in total)
  • 7.50 gm powdered gelatine
  • 500g cream cheese, chopped, at room temperature
  • 100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
  • 65g (1/2 cup) Milo
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) milk
Instructions:
  • Grease and line a 20 x 30cm slice pan with baking paper, leaving extra paper along the sides. Place half of the biscuits on the pan base, cutting them to fit if needed.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, pour 60ml (1/4 cup) of cold water and sprinkle gelatin over it. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes to soften. Microwave for 20 seconds on HIGH until warm. Whisk with a fork until gelatin dissolves. Allow it to cool slightly before using.
  • In a large bowl, use electric beaters to blend the cream cheese, sugar, and Milo until smooth. Pour in the milk and beat in the gelatine mixture until well combined.
  • Spread the creamy cheese mixture over the biscuit base and make it smooth. Place the remaining biscuits on top, aligning them over the lower layer for easy cutting. Chill in the fridge for 4 hours or until firm.
  • Lift the slice from the pan using baking paper, then cut into even pieces with a sharp knife. Serve.
