Elevate your party with this unique and delicious veggie appetizer, perfect for any festive occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 14 to 16 fresh asparagus spears
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage leaves, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 package (16 oz) bacon
  • 2 tablespoons real maple syrup
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to broil. Line broiler pan with foil, making slits in the foil on the rack to allow juices to drain.
  • Prepare the asparagus by snapping off tough ends. Combine brown sugar, sage, and pepper in a pie plate. Coat bacon strips with the mixture and wrap them around each asparagus spear.
  • Arrange the asparagus on the broiler pan, positioning the tips towards the center. Broil the asparagus 6 inches away from the heat source for 13 to 15 minutes until the bacon is crispy, remember to turn and glaze with syrup halfway through cooking.
