Maple bacon-wrapped green beans coated in zesty garlic-butter sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • cooking spray
  • 1 (12 ounce) package thin-sliced smoked maple bacon, cut in 1/2
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
Instructions:
  • Prepare an ice bath in a large bowl. In a large pot, bring lightly salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain in a colander and promptly transfer to the ice bath to cool for a few minutes. Finally, drain the green beans.
  • Generously coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook bacon, turning occasionally, until almost browned but still flexible, but not yet crispy, for 6 to 8 minutes. Drain bacon on paper towels and allow to cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
  • Wrap green beans with savory bacon slices and arrange in dish; continue until all beans are beautifully wrapped.
  • Mix together butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and garlic in a bowl. Drizzle the mixture over green bean bundles. Cover with aluminum foil and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) to ensure the perfect cooking temperature for your dish.
  • Bake the green bean bundles in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake until bacon is crispy, about 15 minutes more.
