Maple caramelized apple, kale and almond salad

Quick and flavorful side dish for busy nights.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large red apple cored, sliced into wedges
  • 27.00 gm maple syrup
  • 50g baby French kale leaves
  • 20g natural sliced almonds, lightly toasted
Instructions:
  • In a pan over medium heat, melt 20g of butter. Cook apples for 5 minutes, turning occasionally. Pour in maple syrup, shake the pan to coat the apples, and simmer on low for 3-5 minutes until apples are tender.
  • Place the kale beautifully on a serving platter. Then, delicately scoop the apples out of the pan with a slotted spoon and combine them with the almonds on top of the kale.
  • Melt the remaining butter in the pan juices in a frying pan over low heat. Serve the salad drizzled with maple sauce alongside the pie.
