Indulgent fudgy brownies made with cream cheese, maraschino cherries, and Betty Crocker™ Supreme original brownie mix for a decadent delight!
Ingredients:
  • 3 oz (from 8-oz package) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons chopped maraschino cherries, drained, patted dry
  • 1 teaspoon maraschino cherry juice
  • 1 egg, separated, yolk reserved for brownie batter
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
  • Reserved egg yolk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and generously grease the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray. In a small bowl, smoothly mix together cream cheese and sugar. Then, add flour, cherries, cherry juice, and egg white, and blend well. Set the mixture aside for later use.
  • Prepare the brownie batter according to the box instructions, adding the reserved egg yolk. Set aside 3/4 cup of the brownie batter. Spread the rest of the batter in the pan. Place dollops of the filling evenly on top of the batter in a grid pattern. Put about 1 tablespoon of the reserved batter in the center of each dollop. Use a knife to create a swirled design by drawing four straight lines horizontally and then vertically through the mixture.
  • Bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out almost clean. Let it cool for 30 minutes on a rack, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled. Cut into 16 squares and store covered in the refrigerator.
