Marinated Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Breasts

Whip up quick and delicious grilled chicken for a family dinner in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon canola or olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (about 1 1/2 lbs)
Instructions:
  • Combine all ingredients, except the chicken, in a shallow glass dish or resealable plastic bag. Trim any fat from the chicken and rinse under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels. Add the chicken, ensuring both sides are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, but no longer than 24 hours.
  • Prepare grill by lightly oiling the rack. Preheat charcoal or gas grill to medium heat; this will take approximately 40 minutes for charcoal and about 10 minutes for gas.
  • Grill the chicken breast for 15-20 minutes, turning once with tongs. Brush with remaining sauce in the last 5 minutes of grilling, if desired. Cook until the chicken juices run clear when the thickest part is cut.
