Make mascarpone cheese at home with only 2 ingredients. Perfect for sweet or savory recipes!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1.5 teaspoons cream of tartar
Instructions:
  • Place cream in a metal bowl over simmering water until warm. Stir in cream of tartar and continue heating and stirring until temperature reaches 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). Remove from heat.
  • Place a piece of cheesecloth in a strainer or colander over a bowl. Alternatively, you can use paper towels. Pour the mixture into the strainer and allow it to drain in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Transfer the cheese into a clean container and use within a week. Store in the refrigerator.
