Indulge in our irresistibly creamy mashed potatoes, the must-have winter side dish!
Ingredients:
  • 700g evenly-sized medium unpeeled potatoes
  • 1.20 gm salt
  • 100g butter, at room temperature, chopped
  • 100ml milk
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Rinse the potatoes to remove dirt without damaging the skin. Transfer them to a large saucepan, cover with cold water, and add salt. Bring to a boil over high heat while covered.
  • Uncover the pot and turn the heat to medium-high. Boil for 30 minutes or until the potatoes can be easily pierced with a skewer. Transfer the potatoes to a colander using a slotted spoon. Let them cool for 5 minutes before draining the water from the pot.
  • Peel the potatoes while still warm, then return them to the saucepan. Shake over low heat for 1-2 minutes to dry them out completely.
  • Mash the potatoes using a potato masher, then blend in the butter until creamy using a wooden spoon.
  • Heat the milk in a small saucepan over gentle heat, stirring occasionally, until hot but not boiling, about 4 minutes.
  • Pour the hot milk into the potatoes slowly, mashing until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve promptly.
