Matzoh crackers coated with toffee, topped with chocolate; a delightful Passover candy treat.
Ingredients:
  • 4.5 sheets of salted matzo
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 8 ounces chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and give a gentle grease to a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • Arrange the matzoh pieces to line the bottom of the dish, making sure to break and fit them snugly to fill any gaps.
  • Combine and melt the margarine and brown sugar in a sturdy saucepan over gentle heat until smooth and bubbly, approx. 3 minutes. Drizzle the mixture over the matzohs in the baking dish.
  • Place in the preheated oven until the syrup is thickened and bubbling, approximately 15 minutes. Take out of the oven and evenly sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes to melt the chocolate, then use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly over the candy. Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces to serve.
