Mayonnaise makes this chocolate cake rich and moist.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two (8- or 9-inch) round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  • Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl, and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to combine mayonnaise, sugar, water, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, beating for 2 minutes. Transfer the batter to the prepared pans.
  • Bake the cakes in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow them to cool before frosting with your favorite frosting.
