Savory meat pie with beef, pork, potatoes, and flavorful herbs & spices for a cozy meal. Easy with pre-made pie dough.
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium potato, peeled and cubed
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 0.33333334326744 clove garlic, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried sage
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 (15 ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) for a perfect bake!
  • In a saucepan, simmer the potato in enough water to cover until tender, approximately 5 minutes. Drain, mash, and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, crumble ground beef and pork. Add onion, garlic, mustard powder, thyme, sage, cloves, salt, and black pepper. Stir in water and cook over medium heat until meat is evenly browned, stirring occasionally.
  • Take it off the heat and blend in the mashed potato.
  • Gently press one pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate. Add the meat mixture, then place the second pie crust on top. Trim off any extra dough, then seal the edges by pressing with a fork. Ventilate the top crust by making a few knife slits. Cover the edges with foil.
  • Place the dish in the oven that has been preheated until the crust turns golden brown, for approximately 25 minutes.
