Cheesy meatball sub with tangy tomato sauce on crispy baguette.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 French baguette
  • 1 (14 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, garlic, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and Italian seasoning using your hands until well combined. Shape into 12 meatballs and place in a baking dish.
  • Bake meatballs in the oven until they reach an internal temperature of at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C), about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and gently hollow out the inside to create a cozy space for the meatballs.
  • Brush a baguette with luscious olive oil and generously season with aromatic garlic powder and salt. Gently place the baguette on a baking tray, opening it up so the beautifully oiled sides are facing upwards.
  • Toast the baguette in the oven for 5 minutes until lightly crispy while the meatballs finish cooking.
  • Warm spaghetti sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Take the meatballs out of the oven and carefully transfer them to the hot sauce using a slotted spoon. Gently mix to ensure they are coated evenly with the sauce.
  • Fill one side of the baguette with meatballs and sauce, ensuring the meatballs are nestled in the well. Layer on slices of provolone cheese.
  • Continue baking in the oven until the cheese is fully melted, for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Allow the dish to cool slightly before slicing it into 4 delicious sandwiches.
